Surfing gateway of the Philippines. Surfing alternative to Siargao, make way for Mindanao and Philippines' newest surfing destination: the town of Lanuza in the province of Surigao del Sur. If you are thinking about doing any surfing, then the Philippines just might be your ideal spot. The country boasts some nice surf breaks and no matter what level you are at you can find a challenge. One of the nice things about surfing in the Philippines is that the waves are rarely crowded offering you the chance to enjoy the sport without the accompanying problems of crowds.

Palacios who was a writer/photographer/surfer, among other things, on a mission of documenting on the Net her adventure travels in the Philippines and around the world, hoping that you, too, will be inspired with the places she had the opportunity to visit. This is now a tribute page to Vangie who passed away on Friday, 3 May, 2003 on Lake Caliraya, Manila, when she was hit by a speedboat while she was swimming.
