The Filipino American Golfers Association, Inc., commonly known as FilAm Golfers, was established as a non-profit entity on October, 1999 with the purpose of promoting golf as a serious pastime among Filipinos and Americans alike in the East Coast USA and to foster among members a closer bond and fraternity for their joint and mutual benefit. FilAm Golfers is a member club of the United States Golf Association (USGA) - Jamaica, NY.

The Fil-Am Golf Council came into being for the sole purpose of providing a mechanism by which all its component golf clubs can share common interests, provide support to one another, enhance the image of the Fil-Am golfers and to promote the sport of golf in the Fil-Am community.

Last July 17, 1997 a group of Filipinos from Atlanta and Augusta had a friendly golf tournament at the River Pines Golf Course in Alpharetta. After the event a picnic was held at the Pellicer's. It was decided then to form a formal organization. The goal of the association is to promote the sport of golf among the Filipino community in Georgia. Tournaments are going to be held during the year in different locations. Another goal of the organization is to have golf clinics for beginners. The only requirement for joining the organization is you have to be a Filipino/Filipina by ancestry or related by marriage.

The Philippine Golf Association was founded in the year 1973 by a group of ragtag golfers who waited through the night in their cars to have starting tee times in the public courses trying to stage their initial tournaments. The golfing fraternity has grown and blossomed to foster sportsmanship, fair play, top level golfing competition and unpararelled brotherhood. All aspiring golfers and non golfers are invited to join and enjoy this vibrant and pulsating organization.

Samahang Walang Asenso sa Golf's mission is to uphold the integrity, honesty, and enjoyment embodied in the game of golf in an environment that will promote sportsmanship, camaraderie, and keen competition at all levels and above all, a lasting friendship among its members.
