The Scout Movement reached Philippine shores in 1910 when the first, but alas now unknown, Scouters sought to afford young people the opportunities of learning with adventure in an outdoor setting using the Patrol and group method.

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines was established "to promote through organization and cooperation with other agencies, the ability of boys to do things for themselves and others, to train them in Scoutcraft, and to teach them patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and kindred virtues, using the methods which are in common use by Boy Scouts" - Ermita, Manila.

    The Philippine Centennial Scout Jamboree kicks-off a nationwide whole year celebration of the 100th year of the Declaration of Philippine Independence. The Jamboree is a unique opportunity for our boys to meet in a historical setting. Twenty nine countries were invited to participate held on January 5 to 11, 1998 at Clark Field, Angeles City.
