The golden-capped fruit bat is an endagered species endemic to the Philippines. Although widespread within its present distribution, the individual populations are small and decreasing.

The Philippine spotted deer is a small deer not much larger than some dogs, being about 80 cm (2.6') tall at the shoulder. Classified as endangered, a survey in 1991 found that it survived in small populations only on Panay and Negros and thus has been extirpated over 95% of its former range which is throughout the Visayan Islands.

Critically endangered bat found only in the Philippines - due to 80% decline in area of occupancy, extent of occurrence and/or quality of habitat.

A small wild buffalo found only on the island of Mindoro. It is classified as critically endangered ( facing an extremely high risk of extinction in the wild in the immediate future, with population estimated to number less than 250 mature individuals and an estimated continuing decline of at least 25% within three years or one generation - from the Rare, Threatened and Endangered Mammals website.

The Visayan warty pig is a small, forest-dwelling pig classified under the critically endangered species . Due mainly to intense hunting pressure and the continued elimination and fragmentation of its remaining habitat, potentially viable populations are now thought to remain only on two of the Visayan Islands: in the western mountains of Panay and in scattered fragments of surviving forest on Negros.

Hog deer are heavy-set and compact, standing only about 28" high at the shoulder. The Calamian deer, an endangered species, is known only from the Calamian Islands, which are located off the northern tip of Palawan, itself the westernmost island of the Philippines.
