The Immaculate Conception School of Theology, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur trains future pastors who will preach the Word of God, minister to the sacramental needs of God’s people, build, guide and lead the communities thus nurtured on the Word and the Sacrament. The seminary educates these future pastors to be knowledgeable, competent and perceptive professionals, and forms them to be mature men, prayerfully dedicated to God and apostolically committed to His kingdom - Pantay Daya, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

This seminary which was then known in 1942 as Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Seminary was canonically erected by Bishop Alfredo Versoza and inaugurated on October 11 of the same year in Tayabas, Quezon. Its first rector was Fr. Angel Glinoga. The seminary was solemnly blessed by the Apostolic Nuncio Msgr. Salvatore Siino in June 1959. In 1958, it was known to be the first diocesan seminary in the Philippines to have a college department. At present, the seminary is known as Our Lady of Mount Carmel Seminary offering a formation program for the high school seminarians.

SAS was built on land donated by the San Agustin family. The First Major Seminarians joined the SVD novices while our major seminary was being constructed - Suqui, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
