the wily filipino was devised by Benito M. Vergara, Jr. out of a long series of unproductive afternoons while working on his doctoral dissertation. Sunny, a native of Los Banos, Laguna, is also a graduate student in anthropology at Cornell University and is working on the Filipino community in Daly City, California, the Adobo Capital of the USA.
