He has held various positions incuding: Computational Linguist (ARTI), Speech Technologist (Panasonic Technologies), Senior Computational Lexicographer (AnswerLogic), Linguist/Typologist (Australian National University/U.C.S.B.), Translator (LMRI, Telef??nica, and various contract companies), Foreign Language Instructor (UCSB), Foreign Language Materials Coordinator (MIIS), Technical Editor (NEPA), Travel Agent (Baylis Intl.), and Assistant Programmer (UCLA Dept. of Visual Arts). He finished his Bachelor's degree with honors at UCLA (with romps at l'Universite de Caen, France and la Universidad Complutense de Madrid ) and his masters and PhD in Linguistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
