Since its inception in 1962, the UPCC has grown into a musical force of both national and international stature. Composed of select students from the different colleges of the University of the Philippines, the UPCC showcases works from both ends of the musical spectrum. This versatility is evident with the range of choral music the UPCC performs Broadway musicals, Filipino zarzuelas, musical revues, jazz, rock and grand operas. In addition, it has made a name for itself by holding more Philippine premiere performances of major choral-symphonic works than any other choral group in the country including the World premier of neo-classicist composer Heinrich SchweizerǃÙs oratorio Heirs of Eternity.
