- Manila Water Company, Inc.
Took over the privatized water system for the East concession of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) on August 1997. It is a consortium composed of the Ayala Corporation, United Utilities, Bechtel Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, and BPI Capital Corporation. Manila Water began an aggressive program of repairing leaks, replacing meters and regularizing illegal connections upon takeover. Now, we are rehabilitating all major pumping stations, expanding the water distribution network, and upgrading the existing wastewater infrastructure to serve our customers better. We will continue to improve and expand the water and sewer systems, eliminate the sewage pollution, and find new sources of water for the metropolis - Balara, Quezon City.
