This website is dedicated to Filipino musicians in the United States, especially those "old-timers" who performed during the early 20th century. My aim for this website is to post information on these little-known and under-appreciated musicians, and update as often as possible.

This website is another initiative of Sin Fronteras Organizing Project. This website is dedicated to publicize our work and to educate the public about the plight of the agricultural workers. More importantly, this website is to recognize the dignity of the contributions made by the men, women and children who work very hard to feed us. Look especially for the Farmworkers Struggle section.

This is a genealogical research of Pilipino migration to Hawaii. I dedicate this website to the Centennial celebration of the first 15 Pilipino sakadas (contract farm workers) & their arrival at Honolulu harbor on December 20,1906. This website also honors the struggles & achievements of all Pilipinos who immigrated to Hawaii from the Philippines before & after the original 15 sakadas.

During the Manila-Acapulco Galleon Trade era from 1565 to 1815 Spanish galleons crossed the pacific between the Philippines and Mexico. On October 18, 1587, the Manila Galleon Nuestra Senora de Esperanza commanded by Pedro de Unamuno entered Morro Bay near here. A landing party was sent to shore which included Luzon Indios, marking the first landing of Filipinos in the continental United States.

I Am Today's Filipino documents the many stories of present-day Filipinos, one-hundred years after the first significant wave of Filipino migration to the U.S. This exhibit provides an intimate glimpse into the individual lives and experiences that reflect the collective story of the Filipino community in 2006. It preserves a moment in the current history of Filipinos in America and encourages a greater awareness of the many contributions that Filipinos have made and continue to make to the U.S. Through the artistic display of photos and video, this original exhibit celebrates the diversity of the Filipino community while recognizing the rich cultural heritage and traditions shared among all Filipinos. This is an official project of the Los Angeles/Southern California Filipino American Centennial Planning Committee in partnership with the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Program.

Two videos about the World's Fair of 1904. One of the videos, 'Bontoc Eulogy' tells one of those stories from the perspective of a first generation Filipino American who tries to trace what happened to his grandfather, a Bontoc Igorot warrior, who was brought from the Philippines to be displayed at the St. Louis fair and who never returned to his native village.
