Promotes sustainable agricultural development through increased productivity and profitability. Rice, sugar and fish constitute the major commodities of the region. Region VI is the 3rd largest rice producer among regions contributing 13% share in the national production and posting a regional sufficiency level of 128%. Top priority is given to the production of high value crops especially mango, coffee, cutflower, banana and vegetables. Region 6 is the leading producer of mango contributing 26% of the national total - Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City.
