In 1968 a group of students searching for political change and cultural awareness came together and founded Pagkakaisa. These students, though few in number, knew that their strength was to be found in each other. They named their organization "Pagkakaisa" meaning "Strength in Unity." The organization became a voice for the students and the Pilipino community, and Pagkakaisa remains so today.
