The ANINO Shadowplay Collective is a group of multi-media artists dedicated to popularizing the art of shadowplay in the Philippines. ANINO's productions treat political, social and environmental issues; Philippine history and social as well as cultural life; and Philippine folklore, legends and literature.

Sadly, most of the forests in Negros have vanished. Agriculture and logging have taken their toll and today forests cover only four per cent of the Island. 150 years ago, forests covered 95 per cent of the Island! In 1984 a group of concerned citizens started a ǃÚSave our Forestǃ٠movement. This grew into the Negros Forest and Ecological Foundation. Since then, NFEFI and teams of volunteers have worked tirelessly to reforest hundreds of hectares, and have established a breeding program of endangered species plus numerous biodiversity conservation, education and research projects - South Capitol Rd., Bacolod City.

The Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) unites all Filipino veterinarians in responding to the needs and demands of the veterinary profession and the whole nation. Composed of 5,274 members, the PVMA strives to develop the veterinary profession in the Philippines and to promote the professional and ethical standards in veterinary science and medicine. Organized in 1907, the PVMA has consistently protected the inherent rights of the profession and the delivery of veterinary services. The PVMA was deeply involved in the enactment of the Animal Welfare Act and the creation of the Sub-Committee on Veterinary Drugs of the Department of Health which developed the implementing guidelines of the Generic Drugs Act for veterinary practice - Cubao, Quezon City.

Just about everybody recognizes the name Duncan when it comes to yo-yos. But did you know the first man to own a yo-yo company in America was a Filipino immigrant by the name of Pedro Flores? In addition to launching one of the world's best-loved toys, he hired numerous Filipino American yo-yo demonstrators and played a central role in popularizing the toy as we know it.
