Landscapes and seascapes remain Wong's main subjects. He is as familiar with the coasts of Metro Manila's outskirts as he is with the mountain crags and shorelines of China's provinces. He paints using a variety of methods to bring out and enhance the theme of his works. His strokes are swift and bold, the colors leaning towards darker hues even when doing washes.
