The Writersbloc, Inc. aspires to develop writers who will be instrumental in defining new perspectives in contemporary Philippine Drama. Composed of both emerging and established
Filipino playwrights, the Bloc gathers every
other Sunday to read and critically assess
new works for the stage.
Most of the plays born in Bloc
sessions eventually find their way
into the playbills of professional
or amateur theatre companies
and the citation lists of national
and international award giving bodies.

- UP Repertory Company
The U.P. Repertory Company is a non-stock, non-profit organization composed of the students of the University of the Philippines, which aims to promote and uplift the state of the Philippine Theater. Founded in 1968 through the leadership of U.P. professor Behn Cervantes, the Company was a venue for the production of classical plays. The UPRC has a long tradition of producing plays that mirror the lives of the Filipinos.
