Asian Pacific Arts Company - a Philippine folk dance, but in San Diego, it began as the acronym for the Philippine-American Society and Cultural Arts Troupe. Today, PASACAT's mission is to preserve and promote the Asian Pacific culture through the arts, thereby, extending goodwill and enhancing cultural understanding - National City, CA.

PhilCAS of BC is a registered non-profit organization primarily dedicated to 'introducing Philippine culture through dance and music and instilling in Filipino children a sense of pride, cultural awareness and identity in their Filipino heritage'. In addition, we wish to focus on strengthening the concept of harmoniously existing with the various multi-cultural sectors in the community. The members of this Society are mostly young Filipino-Canadians whose main interests are to discover their roots and eventually propagate this traditions to their peers - Bakerview Dr., Richmond, BC.

The Samahan Philippine Dance Company started out as part of the Youth Program of the Council of Pilipino-American Organizations of San Diego County. The purpose of the program was to provide Filipino youth opportunity to gain knowledge and appreciation of their cultural heritage. The name Samahan (meaning working together) was selected by the participants who were mostly students from area junior and senior high schools and San Diego State University. The educational and recreational program soon became an amateur performing group besieged with requests for performances from various organizations, institutions and individuals.

This LA-based troupe was born in the 70's out of the vision of its founder, Sonia Capadocia who was motivated by a continuous search for cultural identity in a foreign land. Sonia, an award-winning school teacher and noted dance instructor, gathered a handful of young students and taught them some Filipino folk dances.

Repertoire is a revival of legends and folklore, depicted through music and dance . . . . folk and contemporary - Los Angeles area.
