RICO PHILIPPINES Industrial Corporation (RPIC) is one of the biggest producers of food grade semi-refined carrageenan in the country. Established in 1990 through a joint venture of Rico Industrial Taiwan and Marcel Trading Corporation (MTC) of the Philippines, its initial activities were focused on producing both semi-refined and refined carrageenan under an exclusive selling arrangement to MTC - People's Technology Complex, Carmona, Cavite.

Since April of 2006, we have continuously exported dried seaweeds to Europe. At present, we have 20 employees in Sitangkai and Zamboanga City. Our own warehouse and main buying station is located in Barangay Panglima Alari in Sitangkai with our own network of farmers and local traders. We also have a warehouse and baling station in Zamboanga City that has the capacity of baling 40 MT export quality seaweeds in 2 X 20’ containers per day. Sitangkai seaweeds is considered to be one if not the best in the world. Laboratory tests from foreign companies confirm that Sitangkai seaweeds produce high yield with best properties compared to other sources worldwide - Sitangkai, Tawi-tawi.
