  • Local Government of Guinobatan
    The Garden Town. Guinobatan is predominantly an agricultural composed of forty-four (44) barangays, eleven of which are urban and thirty-three (33) are rural communities. Nine (9) of these rural barangays are within the ecological zone of Mayon Unit Area located at the foot og Mayon Volcano. Guinobatan is blessed with natural bounties. The best sand for infrastructure, limestone for cement-making, perlite,agricultural crops, ornamental plants and home to historical caverns, inland springs and tasty foods like longaniza de Guinobatan, pilinut delicacies and barquillos to name a few. It has horticultural areas making it known to be "The Garden Town".

  • Municipal Government of Tiwi
    Tiwi, the Philippines' richest source of geothermal energy, began as a barrio of Malinao before it was formally organized as a politically independent pueblo in 1696. In the extant records of the municipality, the first chief executive of the municipal government was Don Lorenzo Mancilla installed in 1776. The present municipal building was built during the incumbency of Mayor Maximino Cruel in 1919. It was renovated during the term of Mayor Naomi Corral in 1990. Currently, the municipal government of Tiwi is administered by Hon. Mayor Patria C. Gutierrez. Her stint in the UN as chairperson of International Union of Local Authorities (IULA) Task Force for Women in Local Governance, has gained for Tiwi a remarkable distinction in the area of women empowerment.

    The first settlers of Pioduran called the place Panganiran, a muslim word which literally mean the land of √¢Ç«®≈ÏNo Return√¢Ç«®¨? or the √¢Ç«®≈ÏLand of the Setting Sun√¢Ç«®¨?. When the place became a sitio of Malidong, then a barrio of Guinobatan, it was called Malacbalac, reflective of a charitable and hard working people.
